Gypsy

Hi, my name is Gypsy, and before you meet me, there’s something I think you should know about me.

I’m only 1 year old, so I should still be enjoying all the happy, carefree things a young cat dreams of — warm laps, soft beds, gentle cuddles, and feeling safe. But my little story didn’t begin that way.

At some point, the people I trusted decided they didn’t want me anymore. I was left outside, abandoned and forced to fend for myself. I didn’t understand why. One day I had people, and the next I had cold nights, scary sounds, and the feeling of being all alone in the world. Humans were supposed to protect me, but somewhere along the way, they forgot about me.

So when I first meet new people, I can be a little timid. I hope you can understand why. I’m still learning that not every human is going to hurt me or leave me behind. But if you sit down at my level, if you speak softly and show me patience, something wonderful happens... I start to believe again.

I’ll come over for a little fuss, and before long you’ll see the real me — the gentle, calm, loving girl I’ve always been underneath my worries.

I’m looking for a family with children aged 10+, because loud noises and sudden movements from younger children can make me feel frightened. I get along well with other cats, so I’d be happy sharing my home with a feline friend. Dogs, though, are a little too scary for me.

I’ve already had people give up on me once. Will you be the person who chooses me forever?
